Q: I am interested in becoming a CPR instructor. How can I find out more information?
A: CPR Seattle frequently offers instructor qualification courses, provides internships once you are certified, as well as employment opportunities. To become an instructor you need to obtain your adult, child, and infant CPR, first aid, and AED training through Emergency First Response. If you are a medical professional, this prerequisite is waived. To find out more information, visit our instructor pages.

Q: Does CPR Seattle teach the new CPR protocol?
A: Yes! In 2005 there were major changes to how CPR is taught. CPR Seattle always stays abreast of new training guidelines, including the new AHA press release on March 31 regarding compression-only CPR.

Q: What certification agency does CPR Seattle teach through?
A: CPR Seattle is a training facility for many different certification agencies including the American Heart Association, Medic First Aid, American Safety and Health Institute, and Emergency First Response. If you take our layrescuer course, you will earn a Medic First Aid certification. If you take our healthcare professional training, you will earn an AHA certification. All of our certification agencies follow the same protocol as all other CPR certification agencies in the United States -- those set forth by ILCOR, the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation. All of our classes courses meet federal (OSHA) and state (WISHA) requirements for workplace training. Why do we support so many training curriculums? Because it gives us the flexibility to offer you the best training courses from each agency.

Q: I've seen on-line courses in CPR that are more convenient for me. What are the advantages of taking a course in a classroom?
A: While on-line courses may provide the same basic concepts as an in-class course, CPR, or cardiopulmonary resusciation is a motor skill, not a cognitive skill, that only can be learned through skills practice and repetition. With CPR Seattle, 90% of your class time is spent practicing on mannequins, or participating in real life scenarios. Our instructors are there to help you with technique, answer any questions you might have, and most importantly, customize the class to your unique needs.
