Wilderness First Aid
Wilderness First Aid (WFA) is an intensive 16-hour program designed for anyone involved in wilderness recreation. It is also an excellent class for those wanting a more in-depth and advanced first aid class or who are concerned about disaster preparedness in the event of an urban emergency. Participants will receive a ASHI (American Safety and Health Institute) Wilderness First Aid certification card at the completion of class.
Meet some of our Wilderness First Aid staff!
Included with your registration in the WFA class is a 140 page digital copy of the ASHI Wilderness First Aid book. During enrollment there is an option to purchase a paper copy of the same book.
Topics covered include*:
- In-depth Patient Assessment
- Caring for Injuries
- Environmental Hazards
- Biological Hazards
- Medical Emergencies
- Evacuation and Survival
*This course does not include CPR training - please visit our Adult CPR/AED or Adult/Child/Infant CPR/AED class pages to enroll in a CPR course.
All students will wear masks for the duration of the class. You will be assigned one person to be your skills partner for the duration of the class (if you signed up with someone, we will pair you up with them). If you are not comfortable practicing skills with one other person in the class please contact our office before signing up for this program.
